Welcome to Pudding Ph.D.

In order to appreciate the content on this site, you need to understand its history.

For those not familiar with higher education, after a 4-year degree (BA or BS), a person can go on to graduate studies. (And more student loans!) During graduate work, in order to earn a MA or MS, you need to do a HUGE paper called a thesis.

After the thesis is accepted and you earn your Master's, you move on to the Doctorate level. A Doctorate candidate has to put together a dissertation. The candidate develops a theory and then proves it with research in order to earn the title of Ph.D., Ed.D., etc...

During the events of September 11, 2001, my daughters and I met and spent time watching the repetitious television reports while discussing what this all meant to us.

While watching expert upon expert repeat the same material, one brilliant Ph.D. disclosed the most obvious bit of information - "It was terrorists."

My oldest daughter, Michelle, looked at all of us and said, "Well now, that took a lot of thinking. What did this guy get his Ph.D. in? Pudding? Duh, it takes milk!"

Needless to say, my youngest daughter, Jaci (pronounced Jackie, she just likes to be different), and I were laughing so hard we were crying.

It was then that I decided that my personal website would be named, "Pudding Ph.D." and it would be my dissertation on life.

You see, to me, life is not that difficult. In fact, it's rather obvious. But I have begun to understand how many people just "don't get it." Therefore, my theory and the proof that supports my theory is contained in these pages.

It will be quite a while before I will be able to afford the cost of my full Ph.D. (which is my long-term goal) so, for now, I will maintain the title of Debbie Mahler, Ph.D. in Pudding. My degree in this field was earned at LU (Life University), which is also known as "The School of Hard Knocks."

Enjoy!
